Our Great First Meeting!

Well our first meeting generated a lot of interest, a lot of ideas, and a great feeling that something good has started!

A very big thanks to everyone who came along and made such valuable contributions.

As well as introducing Crossfields Green Spaces to the World we had a good chance to meet a variety of interested people from the estate. A very positive experience.

We had a very good discussion funders and architects about the proposals to develop green areas on the Estate.

A Full report can be seen on our “Greening Crossfields” page here. Please please please give us your ideas/thoughts about these proposals. Either by comments on the page or by email here.

Crossfields Green Spaces is a new group aiming to encourage and nurture the green spaces on Crossfields Estate.

We want to have fun while we grow things!

How Would you Like To Grow?

We have lots of ways for you to get involved:

Allotments:

There are a variety of Allotments on the Estate: Let us know if you are interested and we can add you to the waiting list.

Mini Allotments:

We are keen to develop small growing areas for residents without the time or enthusiasm to take on the work of a full sized garden but who still want a small area to grow in.

Community Gardening:

Help look after our beautiful “Secret Garden” The Sue Godfrey Community garden is a haven for wildlife and a place to relax and enjoy. Look out for our series of Fun Work Days and come along and get involved in looking after this special place on our estate.

Food Growing:

We are developing the area next to the Sue Godfrey Garden as a food growing Project. A series of raised beds will offer an opportunity to grow vegetables, fruit and herbs. We will be offering various workshops and fun activities for all ages.
